Power BI Fundamentals Course Overview

Power BI is the most widely adopted business intelligence tool, offering powerful functionality to import, transform, analyze, and visualize data.
In this course, you will learn the fundamental skills in Power BI that will allow you to create meaningful and visual stories with your data. We will start with the core functionality and slowly build upon it as we create a two-page Power BI report that analyzes the sales, costs, and targets for a retail business. All areas of Power BI will be covered: importing and transforming data in the Power Query Editor, analyzing data with DAX, visualizing data and adding interactivity with user experience elements, and sharing reports in the Power BI Service.

This awesome course is marred—sometimes painfully—by presenting an outdated version of Power BI. There weren't too many cases—perhaps two—where I simply could not find where the description option or setting could be found in the latest version of Power BI. But it was distracting to have to stop the course to look for (or Google) where an option moved. And I was often stumbling if my first attempt at something didn't mimic the instructor's output—did I do something wrong (usually) or did the functionality change (once or twice). But overall, I was really impressed with the content and comprehensiveness of the material. Definitely at least four-star!

What are the requirements to take the courses?

Yes, CFI is accredited by the Better Business Bureau® (BBB) to maintain training standards, the CPA Institutions in Canada, and the National Association of State Boards of Accountancy (NASBA) in the USA. How do I earn my certificates?

Students must complete all the video lessons, quizzes, and final assessments in each course. You can retake the assessments as many times as necessary until you reach an 80% passing grade. For more information on how to earn a course certificate, click HERE.

How are the exams conducted?

Students are required to complete an online assessment (Multiple choice questions, Fill-in-the-Blanks, and Excel Questions) at the end of each course. You can take the exams on your own schedule and will need to earn at least 80% to pass the course and earn your certificate of course completion.
